We had always planned to buy land and raise livestock “someday”. During Covid, we thought, “what are we waiting for”? Within a couple of months we bought land in Bells, TX and started building. Before the fencing was even up, Sarah was searching for cows. She had always loved cows and was pleasantly surprised when she found out that others were successfully raising Highlands in the heat of Texas! Our herd started with three weanlings in 2021. Kris and Sarah both grew up in the suburbs, neither had ever raised livestock. We dove in head first and learned as we went. Today, our herd has grown to over 65 head of cattle, 7 horses and 6 mini donkeys. We have three children (Addison, Landon, and Brecken) who have all embraced our life on the ranch and have learned more life lessons than we could’ve ever imagined. It’s a labor of love and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We are living the good life and excited to share our love of the animals we raise with you!
